Dicky is an award-winning film composer and co-founder & head of production at Migration Studios. He is a multi-instrumentalist/producer/engineer and his work primarily uses a combination of classical instrumentation but with experimental analogue and electronic production techniques blended in. Dicky designed and built Migration Studios in 2021, and has hosted sessions at the Cotswolds studios for the likes of Joy Crookes, Elbow, Alex Cameron, Isabella Summers, Joel Amey (Wolf Alice), Joy Anonymous, Nix Northwest and SAINTE.
His film scores have been premiered across Europe and at Tribeca Festival New York, and has gained him two Best Soundtrack Awards ('22 and '23) at Venice's ONA Film Festival, for his highly emotive storytelling and modern approach to film scoring. Recent projects include a short-documentary for Adidas about Peres Jepchirchir - a history defying athlete, as the first woman to win the Olympic Marathon, TCS New York City and Boston Marathon, a short film 'I-Rise' starring Serena Williams. Upcoming film projects to be released in 2024 include a feature documentary about one of the world's largest sporting scandals, and two documentary shorts, an exploration of sub-cultures in Nairobi, and druids in the South East of the UK.
Whilst film scoring has risen to the forefront of his work, his own music projects have gained praise, with Clash Magazine calling his output 'pop-soaked works, hewn from lofty ambitions, akin to the early Scott Walker.’ His latest project, a 6 piece band, explores the cinematic mundanity of normal life, arriving summer 2024.
